Kaitlyn Williams Invited To Play In USA Field Hockey Nexus Championship
Kaitlyn Williams, a freshman at Hillsborough High School, has been named to a very select group by USA Field Hockey.
Williams has been selected to play in the U16 division at the Nexus Championships later this month in Virginia Beach.
Nexus, presented by Harrow Sports, is USA Field Hockey’s Olympic Development Pathway Program, designed to help players take their game to the next level and develop the next Team USA Olympians.
After a three-week training program, the top female Nexus players from across the country were invited to attend an additional training weekend where selections to the prestigious Nexus Championship were made. Selection Camps were held in five locations throughout the United States with both game play and skill development, coaching and assessment.
Only 288 players from the U-16 division (256 field players and 32 goalkeepers), have been selected Nationally and will work with USA Field Hockey’s Coaching Staff and compete in a five-game tournament.
Williams also recently received an invitation to play in the Under Armour Select Field Hockey Games July 20th at Northeastern University in Massachusetts and is playing in the National Club Championships this weekend in Virginia Beach with her club, New Heights Field Hockey.
