Hillsborough Township BOE Appoints High School Principal and K-12 Math Supervisor
At the June 28, 2021 Board of Education meeting, the Hillsborough Township BOE unanimously appointed two administrators. Michele Fisher was selected as the new principal of Hillsborough High School. Effective July 1, 2021, Mrs. Fisher will take the helm of HHS to lead the nearly 270 staff members and more than 2,300 students.
Mrs. Fisher, a Hillsborough High School alumni, has previously served the Hillsborough Township Public Schools as principal of Woods Road School. Prior to her tenure in Hillsborough, Mrs. Fisher served as principal for the Green Brook Board of Education and as principal for the Kinnelon Board of Education. Prior to her serving as principal, Mrs. Fisher was employed as a teacher in the Flemington-Raritan School District. Mrs. Fisher received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from The College of New Jersey and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University.
Mrs. Fisher stated “As an alumni of Hillsborough High School, I fully appreciate the importance and impact of a strong secondary education such as the one I received as a student at Hillsborough High School. One’s high school years lay the foundation for students' future goals and aspirations. The four years I spent at Hillsborough High School directly impacted my career path ensuring I had the experiences and knowledge necessary to pursue my goals and dreams. I am honored to be principal and I am looking forward to working with the staff, students, and members of the community to continue Hillsborough High School’s tradition of excellence.”
“Mrs. Fisher has proven to be a dynamic leader who is well prepared to lead Hillsborough High School” stated Dr. Lisa M. Antunes, Superintendent of Hillsborough Schools. “Her ability to bring together stakeholders to solve problems and remove barriers will serve her well for a successful transition.”
Mrs. Fisher currently resides in Hunterdon County with her husband of 25 years, Dave, and their four teenage daughters, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Madison and Lauren.
At the same meeting, the Board appointed Kyle Dattola as the K-12 Math Supervisor effective August 16, 2021. Mr. Dattola joins the District after serving the Summit Public Schools as a respected high school math teacher and coach. Prior to his time in Summit, Mr. Dattola worked in Montgomery, Cherry Hill, and in Royersford, PA.
Mr. Dattola, a resident of Flagtown, holds a BS in Mathematics Education from The Pennsylvania State University and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Ramapo College. Mr. Dattola expressed his elation to join the Hillsborough Township Public Schools noting “As a passionate educational leader and content expert in mathematics, it is my honor and privilege to serve the Hillsborough Schools. I look forward to celebrating the many successes of this outstanding District and to continuing to move the bar further in offering cutting edge instruction in the area of mathematics.”
Dr. Kim Feltre, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction stated “We are thrilled to have Mr. Dattola join the supervisory team. Mr. Dattola holds a firm understanding of mathematics curriculum and pedagogy that will be impactful for the teaching and learning of mathematics throughout the District.”
