The Handmaid's Tale Returns for Third Season
Margeret Atwood’s classic novel turned Hulu original series, “The Handmaid’s Tale,” is back for its third gripping season.
After much anticipation, the first three episodes were released on June 5, and from June 12 on, one episode will continue to be released every Wednesday.
“The Handmaid’s Tale” details the dystopian remains of The United States, now called Gilead, where the birth rate has severely plummeted. In hopes to restore the population to its former numbers, women who remain fertile are enslaved into a life of forced reproduction.
In the third season, the story continues to focus in on Offred, a woman desperately fighting for a better life for herself, her family, and the women trapped in the clenched jaw of this broken society.
The series has inspired a larger discussion on the future of women’s rights, as well as dwindling environmental resources. It continues to shine a light on the voices of a world that could be not too far in our future.
